2-minute Review:Okay, as succinctly as possible.... Solid State Society (SSS) is a feature film follow up to the two seasons of the Stand Alone Complex series. Those were also released in movie form, which I reviewed here: letterboxd.com/nottheacademy/film/ghost-in-the-shell-stand-alone-complex-the-laughing-man/and here: letterboxd.com/nottheacademy/film/ghost-in-the-shell-sac-2nd-gig-individual-eleven/You're supposedly able to watch the SAC films/series without seeing the original iconic Ghost in the Shell film, but they've always seemed like they're building on that knowledge and fan base to me. SSS especially so, as the story doesn't seem to pick up so much from the previous SAC film as it does from the original movie.
